What does the parent coaching process look like?

Focusing on You

INTRODUCTORY SESSION

Parent coaching starts with an introductory session where you share your parenting challenges and I will explain the parenting coach process. Each session builds towards creating techniques, tools and strategies to help you.

From the very beginning we will build an open, trusting, nonjudgmental relationship. We’ll explore your current situation, dream of how you wish things could be, design strategies to help you reach your dream, and then evaluate how things are going along the way.

We’ll celebrate your successes and go back to the drawing board to tweak your strategies as needed. In the process we'll highlight your individual strengths to boost your confidence, capitalize on positive energy and help generate the momentum needed to reach your goals.

Typically we work together 1X week for 8 coaching sessions of 60 minutes each. The number of session can be tailored to your needs. All sessions take place by phone or Zoom which means we can work around your busy schedule.

Which Style of Coaching Is Right for You and Your Family?

  • Individual parent coaching is a good fit for those who want to work on their own parenting growth and also address specific challenges they might be facing.

  • Couples can be coached together. This enriching experience supports parents in reaching their common goals for their children.

  • Group parent coaching is for parents who are facing similar challenges. They support each other in pursuit of their individual goals. It’s a great way to build community.

How do I know if parent coaching is right for me?

Parent coaching isn’t a substitute for family or individual therapy or mental health services. Contact me so we can decide if parent coaching is right for you. If not, I can help support you to identifying the services that you need and where to find them in your area.
